Epistle to Diognetus
2nd century · 12 chapters
An anonymous defense of Christianity addressed to an inquirer named Diognetus. Chapters 5 and 6 describe Christians living in the world as the soul lives in the body. The last two chapters were probably added by a different hand.
Translation by Alexander Roberts, James Donaldson and Frederick Crombie: The Ante-Nicene Christian Library, vol. 1: The Apostolic Fathers (Edinburgh: T. & T. Clark, 1870).
