Ignatius of Antioch

Epistle to the Magnesians

c. AD 107 · 15 chapters

On keeping unity with the bishop, presbyters and deacons, and on not living by the old customs of the law. In chapter 9 he speaks of Christians living by the Lord's Day.

The 1870 volume prints two versions of each letter, a shorter and a longer. The shorter is the one scholars accept as Ignatius's own, and it is the only one given here; the longer was expanded by a later writer.
